The book is partly historiography, partly autoethnograpgy and partly authenticating research. It sets basic socio-political process for the role of Muslims in war, movements, struggle, agitation, in every form of Indian freedom movement. They did not lag behind. They were at the forefront in each and every struggle. Barkatullah Khan was the first Prime Minister of independent India in exile. M. Farooqui organised All India Progressive Writers’ Association. Muzaffar Ahmad was at the foremost leader of Kisan Sabha. So many Muslims took part in the Indian National Army and Azimullah Khan was the dynamo of 1857 rebellion. The book resolves many misunderstanding regarding role of Muslims in the freedom struggle.
